Apple cider vinegar is a great cleansing rinse for your hair, whether it is curly, straight, or somewhere in between. This is a rinse I’ve been using for over 2 years and it works like nothing else I’ve ever tried. It not only removes product buildup and day to day residue, but it also detangles, softens, conditions, and gives hair a healthy shine. As an added bonus, apple cider vinegar does all this without stripping your hair of its natural oils. So why not give it a try and see the difference it makes on your hair!
3 – 5 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar (3 T. for dry hair, 4 T. for normal hair, 5 T. for oily hair)
1/4 cup warm water
In a plastic container, mix warm water with desired amount of apple cider vinegar. Feel free to experiment to find a dilution that works best for your hair type. When in the shower, rinse hair with warm water, then drizzle the apple cider vinegar rinse over your entire scalp. Close your eyes because the vinegar can sting! Using your fingertips, give your scalp a gentle yet thorough scrub. Let sit a few minutes then rinse with water. Follow up with your favorite shampoo or Curlygal’s homemade “shampoo”. There’s no need to condition because the vinegar works as a natural conditioner.
Depending on how much product you use, the apple cider vinegar rinse can be done anywhere from twice a week (me) to once a month (my daughter). You’ll love having hair that is healthy, soft, and shiny. Try the apple cider vinegar treatment and let us know what you think in the comments below!
